Hello, My name is Sasha! I’m a first generation cuban-american Miami native who relocated to North Carolina in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the land, the slower pace, and the space it offers for children to truly be children.
I am a certified nature-based educator and CPR/First Aid certified, and I bring both professional training and lived experience into everything I do at Wander. Most importantly, I’m a mom to three boys, which deeply shapes how I view childhood, learning, and behavior. I understand firsthand the wide range of emotions, personalities, needs, and challenges that children can bring into a space.
Wander was created from a desire to give children what I wanted for my own: time outdoors, meaningful connection, freedom to explore, and adults who are patient, present, and attuned. I believe strongly in meeting children where they are, honoring their individuality, and supporting them with empathy rather than pressure.
My husband, Carlos, is a huge part of Wander behind the scenes. He designs and builds nearly everything you see on the property by hand, from play structures to functional spaces, with safety, durability, and imagination in mind. Wander is truly a family effort, built with care and intention.
I’m grateful to share this space with families who value nature, community, and respectful childhood. Wander isn’t just a program to me. It’s an extension of my values, my family, and the kind of world I hope to help children grow into.
